KASUIEN GARDEN:Kyoto city cultural
asset(historic landmark) Registere April 1,1944
Kasuien Garden is located at the south end of Kasuien,
the hotel's own Japanese Guesthouse.
It was designed and built by Hakuyo(1882-1926)the
eldest son of Jihei Ogawa. The garden is peeriess
and in
its unique manner incorporates a huge rock face.
The whole area around Kasuien Guesthouse was patterned
in 1960 after the garden at Daigo Sanpoin Temple,
where Hideyoshi Toyotomi(1537-1598),the founding
father of today's Japan, had strong ties.

Through our long history in Kyoto
since 1888,we have created the sophisticated space
filled with traditional Japanese ambience.
Now, we are adding a touch of modernity and functionality
